App update on 23 August 2026
The mkm|Scan app is getting a new backend, a new sign-in and full GDPR compliance. Please upload your scans and place any open orders before the update.
- Deadline: 23 August 2026
- New backend, new sign-in
- Hosted centrally in Germany
- No dependency on external services
Deadline 23 August 2026 By this date — and in any case before you install the update from the App Store — all scans must be uploaded and all open orders placed.
The key points
- On 23 August 2026 we are moving the mkm|Scan app to a new backend — with a new sign-in.
- All open orders must be uploaded and placed by 23 August 2026, or by the time you install the update from the App Store.
- Your scans remain stored on your device until you uninstall the app, but they can no longer be accessed in the new app.
- Documents you have ordered will be delivered by email as usual — independently of the app.
- We are happy to answer questions beforehand via the contact form or by email to [email protected].
Why we are updating
The reason for the update is GDPR compliance — and with it the question of where your floor plan, living space and scan data is held, and who processes it.
GDPR compliance
The new generation of the app is built around the requirements of the GDPR from the ground up: clear responsibilities, traceable processing and a new, secure sign-in.
No external services
The new backend works without any dependency on external services. For floor plan, living space and scan data this is the decisive point: your data no longer passes through third-party systems.
Centrally in Germany
Our technology partner Astoria Systems GmbH hosts and administers the entire system. Everything therefore sits centrally in Germany — with the partner that also looks after the website, email and IT infrastructure of mkmFloor.
What this means for you
- 1
Complete open orders by 23 August 2026
Upload every scan you would like us to process by 23 August 2026 and order the documents you need — and in any case before you install the update from the App Store.
- 2
Install the update and sign in again
From 23 August 2026 the new version will be available in the App Store. After installing it you set up your access once via the new sign-in.
- 3
Older scans stay on your device
Scans you have already created remain on your device until you uninstall the app. Because of the new, more secure technology they can no longer be accessed in the new app — which is why uploading them in good time matters.
- 4
Ordered documents reach you as usual
Everything you uploaded and ordered before the update will be processed and delivered unchanged. Delivery is by email and does not depend on the app.
Frequently asked questions about the update
What happens if I do not upload my scans in time?
The scans remain stored on your device until you uninstall the app. In the new version of the app, however, they can neither be opened nor transferred — so we can no longer process them. Please upload everything before you install the update.
Do I have to sign in again after the update?
Yes. The new backend comes with a new sign-in. You set up your access once after the update.
What happens to documents I have already ordered?
Orders that reached us before the update will be processed and delivered as usual. Delivery is by email and does not depend on the app.
Where will my data be held in future?
The entire system is hosted and administered by our technology partner Astoria Systems GmbH — centrally in Germany and without any dependency on external services. Details on the processing can be found in our privacy policy.
Does the update cost anything?
No. The mkm|Scan app remains free of charge — you still only pay for the resulting floor plans, area calculations and other documents.
What if I install the update later?
We still recommend completing open orders by 23 August 2026: once we have moved to the new backend, we can no longer guarantee that older versions of the app will be able to transfer data.
